Nagaoka AM-801/II stylus cleaner
Your phonograph stylus also needs cleaning and care. Due to air pollution caused by both outside influences (traffic) and domestic influences (kitchen, smoking) a sticky film is deposited over time on to your records. During playback the stylus will scrape this deposit from the groove which in turn causes a sticky film to form around the stylus tip which in turn traps other dirt and dust found on your record. This easily visible thick deposit not only influences the quality of the sound but may even cause damage to your favorite records. The special formula of the Nagaoka AM-801 efficiently dissolves all the sticky substance caught on the stylus and removes this as well as the dirt trapped.

Paper sleeves leave dust on the record and poly ethylene sleeves cling to the record. When removing the record from the sleeve, the poly ethylene generates a static charge which attracts the sleeve to the record and causes the dust caught between the sleeve and the record to scratch the record. The world famous Nagaoka Discfile no: 102 is anti-static and super slippery thus leaving the record completely unharmed.
Sold in packs of 50 sleeves

A 45 rpm adapter (also 45 rpm record insert, or 45 rpm spindle adapter) is a small plastic or metal insert that goes in the middle of a 45-rpm record so it will play on a turntable. The adapter could be a small solid circle that fits onto the bottom of the spindle (meaning only one 45 could be played at a time) or a larger adapter that fits over the entire spindle, permitting a stack of 45s to be played.

Any vibrations in the record during playback will be picked by the cartridge and will be reproduced by the amplifier and speakers causing muddy sound, distortion and reduce detail. In order to avoid record vibrations you must make certain that the contact between the record and the platter is perfect. The tonar record clamp presses the record flat against the platter. Put the record on the turntable and then put the clamp on the spindle, press down en turn the knob to tighten. The weight of the clamp is minimal so it can be used on any record player with a fixed spindle.
Also many of the older manufactured records are warped. Some more, some less. This causes big problems for the diamond stylus of the cartridge to track the grooves properly. The stylus pressure fluctuates as the stylus moves up and down while trying to track the warps. With bad results: muddy sound reproduction with distortions and if the turntables drive isn’t really strong… audible flutter. In some cases the stylus may actually loose contact with the groove causing a hissing sound. Using the Tonarclampit will press the record onto the turntable platter, the problematical surface will be flattened now, while you play the record causing a dramatic improvement of the reproduced sound on old records.
Take care that the platter bearing of your turntable is able to accept the additional weight of 760 g. If in any doubt please consult your record player instructions or your dealer before buying or using this weight.
